Pretty Little Pouch Swap

My mom and I like to sew. A lot. She is far better than I, but it still something we enjoy doing together. Last month, she and I joined the Pretty Little Pouch swap together on Flickr. I got my pouch a couple of weeks ago, and it is beautiful!
Stephanie from Spontaneous Threads sent it to me, and it is so perfect. So last night, mom and I set out with another friend to hopefully come up with something equally as awesome for my partner. It's not quite the masterpiece that I received, but I am totally proud of it. It was my first time doing a lot of different things, and I think it came together quite nicely.
It got sent off today, and hopefully my partner likes it as much as I do. Tonight the boys are going out of town, and I'm hoping to get some serious work done on the quilt I am making for our bedroom. Until they go, I'm cleaning and prepping the new cloth diapers that arrived today with the 3-5 washes they recommend before use. (Who am I kidding? I'm actually blogging and entering a bunch of giveaways because I desperately want to try Glow Bug Cloth Diapers, but you can't order them in packages smaller than 6.) Maybe soon I'll blog about this ridiculous obsession of mine called "cloth diapers" but until then, housework really is calling.

Happy birthday, baby boy.

One week ago today, my little boy turned one. I feel like I should go on and on about how I just can't believe how fast this year has gone and all that, but I won't. OK, I might, but I'll try really hard to keep it short. This little man is such a blessing to us, and I am so lucky that he calls me Mom.

His party was a Winter Wonderland theme, complete with a tree decked out in ornaments I got for 70% off at Target right around New Years Day.

We also had some sweet printables from Shindig Parties to Go, that we used on his favors, a wreath for the front door (that I sadly forgot to photograph), and my mom's clip chandelier where we hung all of his monthly pics from newborn to eleven months.

To eat, we had walking tacos with all the fixings, and some really awesome birthday cake made by my best friend's mom. Sutton wore his Game Day gDiaper , which I have been not letting him wear for fear that it would fade from washing before his birthday.

This is before he got too messy, but he did some serious work on that cake!

So there ya have it. We had an awesome time celebrating Sutton and his first year of life. Stay tuned, because I have somethings I am planning to do around the house that I can't wait to share with you!
